Family Therapy

FAMILY THERAPY IS A TRANSFORMATIVE TREATMENT THAT CAN HELP INDIVIDUAL FAMILY MEMBERS BUILD STRONGER RELATIONSHIPS.

What is Family Therapy?

Family therapy is a transformative treatment that can help individual family members build stronger relationships, improve communication, and manage conflicts within the family system. The goals of family therapy are not just about solving problems but about creating a better home environment and understanding the different issues that a family might face. This process can lead to a more harmonious and fulfilling family life.

Types of Family Therapy?

In my practice, I facilitate an eclectic, multimodal approach that incorporates aspects of different types of treatment based on the family's needs. I provide psychoeducation that empowers family members with knowledge about mental health conditions. By understanding more about medications, treatment options, and self-help approaches, family members can function as a cohesive support system, contributing to the overall success of the therapy.  Below are the approaches I use.

Family systems therapy: I focus on helping people utilize the strengths of their relationships to overcome mental health problems.

Narrative family therapy: I encourage family members to tell their own stories to understand how their experiences shape who they are and how they relate to others. By working with this narrative, family members can view problems objectively rather than just seeing things through their narrow lens.

Supportive family therapy: I focus on creating a safe and nurturing environment where family members can openly share their feelings and get support from their family.
